CE Ahlin Counseling Services, PLLC

Hello! It's wonderful that you are here. I know that finding a therapist can be an overwhelming and sometimes exhausting process. Finding someone that is the right fit can be challenging. You are brave for taking these steps. On this website, you'll find more information about me, my team, and our work. Please explore and send us an email if you have any questions and want to speak further.

Beth Ahlin, MA, LPC, LCPC, PMH-C

First off, when you call me or meet me, I will introduce myself as Beth! CE are my initials that I use professionally but everyone else knows me as Beth. I live in Jerseyville and have for the past 10 years. I enjoy living in Jerseyville because of its small town charm.  I love the bluffs of Alton and the turn of the leaves in the fall.

As a therapist, I specialize in treating Maternal Mental Health and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I work with individuals in all stages of the perinatal process from preconception through postpartum. I have experience in treating those who have suffered loss or infertility challenges. I have experience in working with those who have undergone IVF or other fertility treatments. I also work with those who have experienced birth trauma. I offer support and coaching through breastfeeding and parenting issues.

I take a holistic or “whole body” approach to therapy. I utilize an extensive referral system of other holistic or natural-minded practitioners.Throughout my years as a therapist, I have worked with many different types of couples. I have experience in helping couples navigate issues such as differing communication or conflict resolution styles, trauma issues, affairs, separation/divorce, parenting issues, etc. In addition, I have extensive experience in working with individuals that struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and substance use issues.

Craig Ambegoda, AMFT

Hello! I'm happy you found your way to me. I bring a trauma-informed perspective, which means that I look for traumatic life experiences that form the roots of the problems you are dealing with. These problems can look like addiction, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, mood swings, sleep issues, nightmares, traumatic flashbacks, distractibility, aggression, grief, relationship problems, dissociation, suicidal/homicidal ideation, and more. On top of this, I also work with couples and families whose relationships are struggling, distressed, or looking to maintain what is going right. But at my core, I just want to help.

I bring a culturally sensitive and integrative approach. As a neurodivergent, an immigrant, a veteran, and a parent, I understand there is no uniform life experience. Therefore, I prioritize getting to know you as an individual first, building trust with compassion, and then I use deeper processing techniques beyond just talking to facilitate healing.

Therapy is meant to be healing. It is a space where you can shine a light into your mind and trust a professional to help with whatever you find inside. I aim to do that. I will not lie to you and say that it will always be easy, but as long as you are willing to go on the journey to wellness, I promise to guide and support you through every step.

Nick Valentine, Office Receptionist

Nick (or Valentine, as I call him) was adopted from Meowtown Cat Cafe in Alton, IL in January 2026. He lives at the therapy office as a permanent resident and is always ready for pets and snuggles! Valentine is a loving fellow who will be thrilled to snuggle up next to you and help you settle into your therapy session.

Not much is known about Valentine’s life before coming to live here but he’s enjoying his time here so far! He’s definitely a window kitty so you’ll see him curled up on the couch by the window or staring out one of the big office windows. Come meet him today!
